  1. A question about your claim of media attention - would you say the media attention is negative? Your overall thesis is not clear in this outline, though you present several ideas that you could develop into a thesis. You also set up a nice visual analysis of their "look." You will want to find a theme to organize these diverse thoughts. That theme should be your thesis, which needs to be unique (no problem) and state an opinion. Then you will want to focus on examples of the theme so you paper will not be repetitive.

  2. You have a lot of information that will make for a very interesting paper; I'm just not clear on what your main argument is about the Dave Matthews Band. What point are you trying to make with these details? Overall, great organization and good information!

  3. I really like the topic you've chosen - it is amazing that they've had such popularity over such a large population of people in both generation x, generation y, and will likely continue to attract the youth of America. I think the ideas in your outline have strong potential, I am just wondering what exactly your sources are going to be. Obviously you will find some good visuals, but maybe you'll want to compare DMB to another band which has withstood the test of time and generational gaps. (I can't think of any right now, and that might also be something to include--that they're just aren't any bands like theirs. Make sure you define your thesis clearly as well. I think your central idea could get lost in a paper which winds up looking more like a promotion, so just be aware of that. I think this sounds awesome though! Good luck in your writing!

  4. I like the point that you make in the second section that they sell their music with their music. I'm sure if you elaborate on that it will make your argument that much stronger. I feel like if you put the section about the bands longevity first it will also support your argument better because that section is a summation of all of the other sections and reasons together.
